Theology beat the College, 38-12, on Saturday, Nov. 7th, in a flag-football game rivalry with more excitement than many of our beloved Buckeye football games.
With sunny, 68 degree temps, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, Serra club members, local diocesan priests (Fr. Schalk, Fr. Black, Fr. Hayes), men discerning a call to the priesthood, and those just curious about the football skills of the men who will be our priests--came out to cheer and watch the mud-less fun.
NBC 4 interviewed the College ex-high-school football Quarterback Andrew Maynard. The Catholic camera man promised snippets of the action on the 6 p.m. news.
And there was plenty of delicious, free food thanks to the talented seminarians and the generosity of the seminary. Real, homemade Louisiana gumbo made by a seminarian whose first name is Trinity (yes, that is his real name) sausage, bbq, salsa and chips, kabobs, and homemade desserts.

The announcers entertained between plays with seminary inside jokes and spoofs on commercials.
The Rector, Fr. Wehner, opened and closed this annual tradition with prayer. Fellowship continued after the game on Saturday evening and the weekend concluded with a family Mass and Brunch on Sunday, Nov. 8.
